Our purpose is to achieve a vision of Pae Ora, healthy futures for all New Zealanders.
We're creating an equitable, integrated and sustainable health service.
We believe that who you are, or where you live should not determine the range and quality of services you receive.
All New Zealanders deserve access to consistent quality care when they need it, to live longer in good health and have the best quality of life.
Te Whatu Ora works to increase collaboration, strengthen leadership and accountability, and improve equity of access and outcomes across the health service. We’re shifting the emphasis towards primary and community care allowing more people to be cared for close to home, and take a greater role in their own health and wellbeing.
We’re bound by the belief that every New Zealander should have access to the right care at the right time no matter where they live.
Te Aka Whai Ora
Te Aka Whai Ora works to enhance Māori rangatiratanga for Māori over hauora Māori to ensure greater influence throughout the entire health system. We aim to strengthen mana motuhake for whānau – supporting communities to take control of their own health and wellbeing.
